Hi Lovely Gaia!
It's Jessica.
So, next Thursday October 15th is Blog Action Day, but we like to spread it out and make it Blog Action Week here on Gaia. You can even see our lovely little logo marking us as participants on the main site.
Please join us and get ready to take part in this global conversation about Climate Change, one of the most important topics facing our planet today. It impacts each and everyone of us, from the air we breathe, to the water we drink, to the cars we drive. We're starting off early and making this Friday Five about climate change and the importance of taking part in this world-wide-web dialogue.
1) Do you drink bottled or filtered water?
2) Have you ever used solar power? (for a calculator, your house, in a place you visited?)
3) Do you ever worry about polar bears?
4) Have you ever seen or been impacted by extreme weather? (hurricane, flood, drought, typhoon, tornado, wildfire or freeze?)
5) Do you like to recycle, save water or energy, compost, turn off the lights, etc.?
Let us know for this Friday Five...and get ready to share your thoughts with the world. next Thursday!

Help

1) Do you drink bottled or filtered water?
Filtered water is available in our break room at work. At home our fridge has filtered water, along with the kitchen sink. We even have a shower filter and are looking for a good whole house filter for our townhouse.
2) Have you ever used solar power?
Calculators, flashlights, toys, ski lifts (wind & solar), and the building at work has solar.
3) Do you ever worry about polar bears?
I am aware of their situation but haven't done much research beyond what I've seen on T.V. Not much exposure in my area and we don't subscribe to pay T.V.
4) Have you ever seen or been impacted by extreme weather?
Many, many, blizzards. I used to work at the airport in Ground Transportation and worked during one blizzard from 7am 'til 2am, slept at the airport and finally got to go home at 4pm. Upside, we got paid the whole time (minus breaks was like 38 hours).
5) Do you like to recycle, save water or energy, compost, turn off the lights, etc.?
Our complex doesn't have a recycling program. So we add all of our recycling to my parent’s bins, which are collected by the city. We practically live in the dark like vampires and try not to leave lights on; we also have a programmable thermostat. For our house warming we’ve asked for donations to our ‘Indoor Composter fund’ in lieu of gifts.
I posted my Friday Five in my blog.
I also signed up to do the Blog Action Day.

Like Deb, I posted my answers to the Friday Five in my blog. I also signed up to participate in the Blog Action Day on October 15th.
I signed up and cross posted this on Gaia Networking in case some people miss this simple idea. Thank you Jessica for giving a template. Recycling is essential!
I recycle all the plastic bottles use at work.
compost at home and use filter water. wash once a month and try to speak to as many people regarding this problem.
1) Do you drink bottled or filtered water?
Both. It really depends if I'm rushing or not.
2) Have you ever used solar power?
I'm not sure. I don't think so..
3) Do you ever worry about polar bears?
So-so, I would say.
4) Have you ever seen or been impacted by extreme weather?
Umm no.
5) Do you like to recycle, save water or energy, compost, turn off the
lights, etc.?
Well, I would think it's easy enough for everyone to turn off the lights…
So, that's pretty much what I do.
