Hello Beautifuls!
This is Jessica.
This week we're celebrating the simple and peaceful things that make our busy lives more beautiful and relaxing. We need to take care of ourselves so we can care for others, after all! So, please join me in answering the questions for this Friday Five. It's my hope that we can share ideas and help each other take better care of ourselves and, as a result, the world around us.
1) What music soothes you? (an artist, genre, song, etc.)
2) Do you use scents for relaxation, if so which ones? (essential oils, bath salts, food, candles)
3) Do you ever get massage, acupuncture or do yoga?
4) Which friend(s) or family members do you go to for support and love?
5) If you could go anywhere to relax where would it be?
As for mine :)
Now, we have a little present for you! We're going to take you on a journey with the video below. It shows a single photo of a beautiful sunset over the water and has affirmations we've created for Gaia and Gaia Soulmates. It is intended for Soulmates users, so it's focus is on bringing forth healthy and loving relationships, but don't we all need that?
Seriously, this was recorded by our very own Jodi - with her lovely South African accent no less - and is so deeply relaxing. The first time I listened I felt calm and hopeful. I felt like I was remembering what was important and who I can be in the world. So please...take a deep breath, click play, close your eyes and enjoy.
I hope you are all feeling warm and inspired. May you have gorgeous, peaceful and warm weekends of goodness.

Help

At first I couldn't help but laugh with my eyes closed listening to “I love myself” thinking about those self-help or quit smoking tapes. But I hung in there, and was surprised to find tears in my eyes around the middle. It is so important for people to love and accept themselves. On the surface I sometimes do, but other times I tend to look too deep and pick out the bad in me, which I know is poisonous. Also, it depresses me at times when I see people I care about change and drift away, and the people currently in my life tend to not give a crap about me at all. Sometimes I internalize this and think, “why do I attract bad people in my life?” But logic tells me it's not my fault what others do to me, I can only control how I deal with it. I have candles everywhere in my room and try to lie on my back on the floor and listen to Native America or Asian “relaxation” music, but my mind always drifts…I guess me getting emotional over this means I still need to work on loving myself. Thanks for this, it was very soothing. ^__^
I'm listening to this video, and talking of soulmates - am thinking of Gien and Anna/HummingBird who met on Gaia and are today celebrating their first wedding anniversary!
