Hello Gaians :)
It's Jessica.
I've been thinking about the impact of film lately and looking around in the Gaia Film section. Also, I just joined Spiritual Cinema Circle! I love movies. I live in Los Angeles so I tend to be inundated with Hollywood-culture. We have so many billboards and celebrities here and so many people work in the film industry. Sometimes I think it's a bit ostentatious and funny ;) but, it is entertaining. So this week's Friday Five is about movies.
Let us know...
1) What is the last movie you saw and did you like it?
2) What was one of your favorite films as a child?
3) Do you like scary movies?
4) What type(s) of films do you like best? (comedy, documentary, history)
5) What film(s) have inspired you?
Here's what I like.
If you want to share more about your favorites films, please come hang out in the Gaia Films section ;) You can also see trailers for our featured films there.
Did you know our favorite Gaia Community film is The Matrix, that's based on everyone who has listed it and put it on their bookshelf :) I love it too.

Help

“The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” a must see IMHO.
20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.
Sometimes yes, sometimes no.
I enjoy all Genres of film.
Harold and Maude.
so….is it the Red or the Blue Pill?
1. Last film seen… “Tara Road” a film about changing your life and getting past grief. I loved it. I recommend it to anyone who likes honest films about real emotions.
2. As a child my favorite film was “The Wizard Of Oz” and I'm still kinda fond of it still.
3. No. I've never like movies which are scary just to be scary. I think they are useless.
4. I like a lot of different movies… I love documentaries when they are well-made. I like historical movies (one of my favorites is “The Duelist” with David Carradine) but I'm a true sucker for romantic comedies.
5. Lately I've been watching and re-watching “Zeitgeist, The Movie”
Samiyam
1. Last film seen “The Hurt Locker”. This film follows an American bomb squad in Bagdad, Iraq. Very riveting film, believable performances, never asks why USA is there, more we got a job to do kind of approach but pulls no punches how scared and harrassed the Iraqi civilian population are.
2. Nice family memory of me and my siblings seeing “The Sound of Music.” Also, truly love “The Wizard of Oz.”
3. If it's a good movie as in all genres. My favorite is “The Exocist.” Runner up is the Japanese horror film “Audition.”
4. Enjoy all kinds but really enjoy thrillers with plot twists that keep you guessing.
5. “The Grapes of Wrath”, “Stand By Me”, “All the Presidents Men,” “Antoine Fisher” and “Tears of Endearment” are a few that inspired me in one way or another.
