Hello All
Jessica here.
Tomorrow is the 4th of July in the USA, our Independence Day. And this week our Friday Five is about just that, tea parties in Boston, fireworks, powdered wigs and sovereignty.
1) Do you celebrate the 4th of July?
2) Which do you prefer: pasta salad, potato salad, cole slaw or apple pie?
3) Do you watch or read the news? (freedom is a global issue afterall)
4) Do you vote?
5) Would you have fought in the revolutionary war?
Here's mine :)

Good Morning Jessica,
On the 4th of July , I did the regular, fun stuff like grilling out and eating watermelon I prefer potato salad…YUM.
I never watch the news or read the paper because most of it is so depressing…YECH. I do have a couple of friends that keep me posted on current events so I am not totally ignorant. I think that world out there is totalaly insane and so many walk around like little sheep denying there is anything wrong.
When i vote, I usually ask the advice of trusted friends because I don't keep up on the canadates. I want to make an informed decision without having to read the paper eveyday and figure out who these men and women are and what they stand for. This year, it was an easy choice for me. I voted for the man who is presidant now. I am very impressed by him so far.
I would not have fought in the revevolutionary war. I am a woman of faith, devoted to goodness and peace. It bothers me that these insane battles take place and I sure would not get involved in any way except to maybe help wounded soldiers. I know smarter people than I am pull the “puppet” strings that start wars and keep them going for a billion dollars a month. Yet, intelligents isn't always the answer. Those “big boys” have us under their thumb squezing the life out of our society and there is not much any of us can do.
I do my part in the peace effort by writing to a soldier a few times a week…he is stationed overseas…I don't know where. I also send him a care package once a month. I don't support the war but I support the troops, many of whom are in real rough places.
